Kerala Proposed as Global Hub for Integrative Healthcare
Kochi, October 30: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Kerala has unveiled three major recommendations to transform Kerala into South Asia’s leading healthcare and wellness destination. The recommendations include the establishment of an Integrative Health Innovation Park, a Global Ayurveda Manufacturing and Export Park, and the All India Institute of Ayurveda Sciences (AIIAS).
The Integrative Health Innovation Park is envisioned as a pioneering ecosystem where Ayurveda, Allopathy, Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence, and Medical Devices converge to develop a holistic healthcare model. The park will focus on advanced research in cancer care, metabolic disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and sports medicine, aiming to make India a global leader in evidence-based integrative medicine.

The Global Ayurveda Manufacturing and Export Park is proposed as a world-class facility with WHO-GMP, US-FDA, and EU certifications. It will feature specialized zones for herbal extracts, nutraceuticals, cosmeceuticals, and over-the-counter products, alongside investor-friendly policies and a live experience center showcasing Ayurveda production and innovation to international visitors.
The All India Institute of Ayurveda Sciences (AIIAS) is proposed to be located in Kerala, considering the state’s deep-rooted Ayurvedic traditions, strong clinical credibility, rich biodiversity of medicinal plants, and global reputation in wellness tourism.

He observed that global healthcare trends are shifting from symptom-based treatments to preventive care, root-cause healing, and holistic well-being.
The proposals were presented during the Kerala Health Tourism and Global Ayurveda Summit and Expo 2025, where Industries Minister P. Rajeev also conferred the CII Kerala Health and Medical Tourism Awards.
