Kerala Witnessing Reverse Migration

Kochi, 11th Oct 2025: Kerala is witnessing a reverse migration of professionals marking a resurgence of high-end job and business opportunities in the state, said state Industries Minister P Rajeev. Inaugurating the Kerala Cyber Suraksha Summit 2025 organised by F9 Infotech in Kochi on Saturday the minister said 40,000 professionals working in different parts of the world came back to the state in the first seven months of 2025. The minister said this was based on analytics in Linked In, a popular medium amongst professionals. Reverse migration of professionals is a sign of the resilience of Kerala's economy and growth prospects, the minister pointed out.

The minister announced “The Dubai-based F9 Infotech will offer 24/7 Cyber Security Monitoring and Alerting completely free of cost to the first 500 companies that register within the next 30 days.”

Describing it as a landmark initiative, the minister said, “this means our startups, MSMEs, and growing enterprises can get professional-grade insights into their vulnerabilities, defences, and preparedness - something that is often out of reach due to cost and resource constraints.

“This is world-class cybersecurity, delivered free, to empower our ecosystem. And it goes further - participating companies will also receive a comprehensive Security Architecture Review and Assessment”, he added.

Cyber Crime World's Third Largest Economy
 

Cyber crime has emerged as the third largest economy in the world after the US and China. In terms of economics cyber crime is estimated to be in the range of USD 10.5 trilion said Gopan Sivasankaran, Director - Middle East, Sophos. Sivasankaran, a cyber security expert with two decades of experience was making the keynote address at the Kerala Cyber Suraksha Summit 2025 in Kochi on Saturday. In a detailed presentation he outlined the challenges posed by cyber criminals and the security architecture needed to counter the threats.

The Kerala Cyber Suraksha Summit 2025 (KCSS) with a special emphasis on strengthening the cyber resilience of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and start-ups, is organised by F9 Infotech, a global multi-cloud and cyber security firm, in association with the Government of Kerala and the Kerala Start-up Mission (KSUM).

The summit was addressed by, Lt Cdr Sajith Kumar E V (Retd.) – Director – Kerala Startup Mission, Gopan Sivasankaran – Director - Middle East, Sophos, Jayakumar Mohanachandran – CEO, F9 Infotech, Rajesh Radhakrishnan – CTO, F9 Infotech. Rajesh Vikraman, CISO, F9 Infotech.

The Summit also witnessed  panel discussions attended by Bibu Punnooran, Co-Founder & Director, Medivision Group, Past President – KMA, Vinodini Sukumar President –Cochin Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Nityanand Kamath - President, Malabar Chamber of Commerce, Vivek Govind – President, TiE Kerala. The Panel discussion was Moderated by  – Joe Scaria, Senior Journalist.
